To discover what contractors and owner-builders are building in Earth, we suggest an Adobe Builder Backpac. These large format issues (11x14") are published a few times a year, covering Adobe, Compressed Earth Block and Rammed Earth projects in the U.S. Southwest and Latin America. Easy to read, they provide critical know-how with large line drawings and photos. The emphasis is on Passive Solar Heating and Cooling, but also style and quality in building crafts traditions. While a few issues have sold out, our back stock is one of the few places to find ads from Earthbuilding suppliers and builders (we suggest Backpac 3 for recent sources). Otherwise, 80% of the info is timeless and much of it can be found nowhere else. |
